Flags (new)

The result of a QCP applied to an energy flux monthly mean is coded with the following quality flags:

*The GEBA climatologist may correct the outcome of the QCP by setting the number 2 to 6 or 8 to 1.

Note: work in progress! The historical flagging system will be re-organized in the next development phase.

At the moment, Flag 1 is also used to store the information that a quality flag other than "correct value" is available from GEBA's data sources. In the case of an annual average, Flag 1 means that the flags associated with the 12 monthly values are heterogeneous.

Energy flux monthly or yearly means retrieved from the GEBA database are written together with their quality flags to the GEBA energy flux file.

Data Availability and Exchange

The GEBA data are available at no cost for bona fide research. New users register by filling in the registration form.

When acknowledging GEBA, the following statement should be made: "GEBA is co-funded by the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss within the framework of GCOS Switzerland."

Institutions willing to offer data to the GEBA as well as users needing support (or for providing feedback) are kindly invited to contact us.
